Impressive Renovation
We can highly recommend Charleswood Property Developments. They recently completed a beautiful renovation of our property, which involved the creation of a through kitchen/diner/living space from three different rooms involving the removal of two internal walls. Our bathroom, ensuite and downstairs cloakroom were also completely renewed. They were efficient, thorough and very competent. The most impressive feature of the team's work is the ease with which we could contact them and talk through ideas and issues. They explained any difficulties as the work progressed and any problems were sorted out quickly. Their work was even more impressive given the issues with Covid and the difficulties that this has presented with the supply of materials. Wonderful house renovation and extension
Mark and his team have done a smashing job extending and renovating our house. My husband and I thought the whole process would be stressful whichever building team we appointed however Mark and Paul dealt with everything with professionalism making the process nothing but exciting and enjoyable. Aspects of the project where we wanted things changing from the spec, we found were often simply resolved by speaking to Charleswood about it, and we would return on our next visit to site to find our requirements had just been arranged, no fuss, no issues. The finish on all the work is done to a great standard. Utter fantastic build and experience
From the word go, Mark and his team were fantastic. Everything was made so easy and they always turned up when they said they would and very accommodating to all of our requirements and needs. They fully understood the project and the end result that we were wanting to achieve. Every member of the team was fantastic and very friendly and helpful throughout the process. The quality and standard of work exceeded our expectations. Paul the site manager always went over and beyond to ensure that we were happy at every stage and communicated brilliantly with us. Hi Mark We hope you are well. Thanks very much for your recent estimate on our house extension project. We really appreciate the time and effort you put in and we have to say that we were very impressed with you and your proposals. However, having taken your advice, considered everything and weighed up the benefits of extending against the value of the house we have decided that the price of the extension pushes us too much into the realms of negative equity. We are considering our options and looking again at moving instead of extending. So, at this point we won't be going any further with the project. Once we had decided we wanted an extension to our house the next stage was how to find a good builder. We'd never done anything like this before so we were a little nervous. We started with the FMB website and put contact details on there. We had quite a few responses and saw about 6 people all together. Having whittled it down to 3 over time we decide on Charleswood Property Services. Our decision was based on really good coomunication, a real interest in what we wanted, the advice given and the questions asked. The extension is now finished and we are delighted with it. The extension blends in seamlessly with the rest of the house, down to the type of bricks, stones and the design work. The attention to detail by the buidling team was brilliant. We are considering more work to the house but will have to go to planning firstly and we will use Charleswood Property Services again.

We moved to York last year, our house required extensive renovation and modernisation. Being new to the area we didn’t know anyone who could recommend a reputable builder. So we used the Federation of Master Builders website and contacted Charleswood Property Developments. We spent quite some time with Mark discussing and planning the work, which was eventually carried out in two main phases to our complete satisfaction. We have also used him more recently for other, relatively minor issues. We would not hesitate to use him again, or to recommend him to others. The reasons for this are as follows: He only uses trusted, quality tradesmen, produces a plan of action from the outset, explains everything clearly, keeps in regular contact, and produces an itemised invoice on completion. This was the first time I'd undertaken such a big building project but Mark was very professional from the start and guided me through the whole process from initial ideas, to finding an architect, to planning application etc. Mark and his team worked extremely hard to deliver the build to my exacting standards and within my very tight deadline.
